Some news broke recently about Gary Dauberman (the writer of “Annabelle: Creation” and 2017’s “IT”). He has been hired to write a movie adaptation to the 90’s Nickelodeon series “Are you afraid of the Dark?”. Personally, I don’t really see the series adapting to film all that well, but I’m excited anyway. If you haven’t seen the series, then watch it. That’s what this article is about. “Are you afraid of the Dark” focused on a group of friends gathered around a campfire telling scary stories to each other. They called themselves The Midnight Society. The episodes can be cheesy at times, but that’s one of the reasons they’re so good. For every moment of cheesiness, there’s a moment of scary. You’ll see stuff in the series that you’ll remember for a long time. I first saw “The Tale of the Ghastly Grinner” when I was like ten years old and I still think about the grinners face on a regular basis and it’s still scary. I highly recommend watching this show, you can get the whole series on VUDU for pretty cheap.
