This is my first post on the website, so I decided to make it about something I’m passionate about: Net Neutrality. Net Neutrality is the policy that treats all websites and internet material as equal. Simply put, right now your ISP (Internet Service Provider) is not legally allowed to slow down or speed up your browsing speeds based on what content you’re viewing. However, this may not always be the case.
This month, our congress will be voting on whether or not to gut this law, due to pressure from the Telecom Lobby and FCC chairman, Ajit Pai. The only chance we have left at saving our internet is to speak out and be heard! Contact your representatives and tell them that they’re doing something their constituents don’t approve of! Also you can make a ruckus on social medias by using the hashtag #KeepOurNetFree.
