Making a list of my favorite TV shows is the most difficult list I could make other than my top music. With that said, keep in mind that these ARE opinions so don’t get all butthurt when you find out that The Office is not on this list. It’s not THAT good.
10- Ash vs. Evil Dead
I only recently finished watching Ash vs. Evil Dead, but it was an easy addition to what was a very difficult list to put together. The first time I watched the Evil Dead movies I didn’t really like them. I was pretty young and I just didn’t enjoy it. After watching the remake as an older fella, I re-watched the original movies. I loved them the second time then found out about the series. I bought the first season on VUDU and immediately watched every episode. The story follows Ash many years after the movies take place. When high, he read from the book and brought back all the evil shit. Watch this show, it’s good and also funny.
Louie may not be seen in the best light right now because of the recent Louis C.K. scandal (I hate that word). Even with all of that, the show is hilarious. There are very few moments that aren’t “laugh out loud” funny. It follows a fictional version of Louis CK and his awkward life and the strange situations he gets into. You should watch it, even if you don’t like Louis CK because the show is funny.
8- King of the Hill
King of the Hill could easily be higher on this list, I even have a tattoo of Hank Hill on my ass. The only reason it’s not higher is because of that it’s not. You already know, but King of the Hill is centered around the Hill family in Arlen, Texas. Hank is very…old fashioned and his voice is hilarious. I recommend watching, obviously.
7- South Park
Obviously South Park is on my list. No list of good TV is complete without South Park. The best thing about the show is how relevant it always is. It takes the things people like to claim are big issues in the world and shows how ridiculous they are. I didn’t really need to explain anything about it though since everyone has already seen it.
My goodness, Angel is one of the first shows I really loved. Angel is a vampire who was one of the most destructive and horrible vampires ever. He killed a gypsy, so the gypsy tribe cursed him with a soul, which made him feel guilt again. He had to remember all of his past sins and he spends the rest of his days trying to do good in order to make up for his past crimes. It may sound cheesy, but it is amazing. It’s a spinoff of Buffy the Vampire Slayer, the OG vampire show. Angel isn’t like the vampires from Twilight and True Blood, Angel isn’t just for women. It is and always will be the best vampire show alongside with Buffy.
Psych is what started my obsession with pineapples. There is a pineapple hidden in every episode. Psych is about Shawn Spencer, he was raised by a police officer who trained him to be hyper observant. He began anonymously calling in tips to the police based solely on what he observed on the news. They brought him in as a suspect, he got out of it by claiming to be a psychic. He ended up continuing with this as a career. That may not have been a good description but it is amazing and nonstop funny.
Similar to South Park, only because no list of good TV would be complete without Friends. I feel that I don’t have to tell you what friends is about, but I will. It’s about a group of friends living in Manhattan. It was in the 90’s. Anyway, you have already seen and enjoyed this show.
3- It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia
It’s always sunny is clearly one of the greatest shows ever created. It’s like the longest running live action comedy or something. It’s one of those shows that you can watch any episode and laugh no matter how many times you’ve seen it. It’s also created one of (in my opinion) the best characters in TV history, Dennis Reynolds. The whole premise of the show is a group of 5 people who are so awful that they can’t find anyone else who can tolerate hanging out with them.
Scrubs has only recently been at number two on the list. It has been number 1 for so long, but I’ve watched the whole series so many times that I had to take a break from it. As you can tell from the picture, it’s about doctors in a hospital. Like Grey’s Anatomy, except good. It’s a comedy/drama and it has some of the best cutaways of any show. You need to watch Scrubs. Watch Scrubs. Watch Scrubs.
1- Parks & Recreation
Parks and Recreation is better than The Office. It’s no contest. Parks and Rec has some of the best moments and bloopers to ever exist in TV. Parks and Rec had fat Chris Pratt. Parks and Rec has Aubry Plaza. Parks and Rec has Nick Offerman. Parks and Rec has Amy Poehler. I shouldn’t have to say more, but I will. It’s hilarious, it makes you smile, it makes you sad, it makes you feel good. What it’s about is self explanatory, so I will leave you to go watch it yourself.
This list was so hard to narrow down so I had to include honorable mentions. I love all of these shows.
Scream: The TV Series
About a boy
Buffy the Vampire Slayer
That 70’s Show
